What do you like about the APA? "I've built many strong friendships through my years at the APA. It allows individuals to meet new people, socialize and have fun, while starting rivalries on the green cloth. Personally, I feel the APA allows me to improve on my skills as well as compete in individual events for money and/or prestige."

Marvin Guss knew he had his work cut out for him when he fell over to the loser's side of the bracket boards after an opening round loss to Nicholas Van Allen Friday night. But Saturday was a different story, as he rolled up a half-dozen opponents in one pool-filled afternoon.

A 7-1 defeat at the hands of Andrew Barlow spelled a 13th Place finish for Guss, another one of Chicago's finest poolplaying gentlemen.

A Skill Level 7 in the APA Pool League, Guss put his national championship experience to work in reaching the final day of competition along with just 15 others.
