The nation's top amateur poolplayers converged in Las Vegas to shoot it out once again in the 6th Annual U.S. Amateur Championship. With a couple familiar
faces and many new ones contending for the title, none could dethrone reigning champion Henry Brodt.
And the Winner is...
One time wasn't enough for Henry Brodt. The defending champion successfully fended off 1997 Runner-Up John Binion's comeback
surge to retain his title as U.S. Amateur Champion. The match went to the hill, as Brodt maneuvered to an 11-10 victory in Sunday's final match.
